Vine University was founded in obedience of the Great Commission and to take part in its fulfillment. For as he had done so two thousand years ago, Jesus calls upon this generation of believers to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” (Matt 28:19). Vine University will strive to reach out to the world, as the “branches” firmly planted in His Word, to heed to His calling. “I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit” (John 15:16). Our purpose and calling will be to make disciples of all nations, in order to glorify the Father.
In order to fulfill its mission, Vine University will strive in two mission fronts:
First, Vine University will equip the local leaders and Korean missionaries of the Third World nations. We will go, train, and equip the local seminarians and church leaders in places that still lack such resources, for we see the proper equipping of local leaders as the key to evangelization of those nations. Our presence will also allow the Korean missionaries in the field the opportunity to further their education in order to more effectively carry out their mission.
Second, Vine Mission University will strive to raise and equip the next generation of missionaries. There is yet a great need for new missionaries; equipped and trained not only spiritually and intellectually, but with practical knowledge and relevant skills. Vine University will commit its resources into continuing the research and furthering our understanding of missions and mission methodologies, and at the same time better equipping current and future missionaries for more effective field work.
Our promise to you is that we will be wholeheartedly committed to the fulfillment of our Lord’s final calling. As Apostle Paul had confessed “..and if I am being poured out as a drink offering (spendo) on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.” (Phil 2:17), we will take joy in pouring of ourselves for the sake of His Name being known among all the nations.
